What these figures mean for vehicle tracking
The figures are the number of vehicle thefts and carjackings reported to the police in the province. They describe how often the crime was reported, not how likely it is for any one vehicle, street or driver.
A tracker is a device that helps locate a vehicle after it is stolen. Whether one is needed, and whether an insurer asks for one, depends on the vehicle and the policy. The licensed provider who calls you can explain what applies to yours.
